OCTOBER 30th, 2024 - FORT LAUDERDALE, FL:
CASF hosted their 66th Annual Craftsmanship Awards on October 30th. Among South Florida's General Contracting titans were the proud group of craftsman, the specialty system Sub/Trade Contractors that are dedicated to the hyper focus of all details that go into the gorgeous South Florida construction in our backyards. The 66th Annual Craftsmanship Awards Gala was a smash success, where numerous accolades were awarded to the best of South Florida. Bay to Bay Resinous Coatings & Waterproofing proudly took home three awards in three separate categories under the leadership of Bay to Bay's Head Project Manager, Sumair Haroon.
Firstly, Sumair Haroon, also Director of Bay to Bay's Waterproof Division, was awarded for his outstanding management of Sea Air Towers. Of the many highlights of the Concrete Restoration award was the outstanding notoriety of Sumair and teams' ability to turn the antiqued, beachfront building from what was once nearly beyond safety standards, into a restored and waterproofed livable-building that exceeds current 40-50 year local requirements.
Secondly, Gonzalo Estrada, one of Bay to Bay's waterproofing specialists was awarded for his team's outstanding waterproofing work at the recently finished Hard Rock Hollywood Casino. The project took place at the famed oculus fountains, only completed just two years prior. Originally, the large fountains were not waterproofed appropriately, causing need for a 20 year Kemper System application. Estrada and Haroon led an incredibly efficient team which repaired the four center fountains while the casino and surrounding space remained completely open. Bay to Bay is currently moving to the additional five fountains away from the oculus fountain.
Also awarded in the Epoxy Floor division was Helio Ferrara for the large resinous coating project completed at Sunshine Distributors massive warehouse. The details of this project are what secured the award for the Bay to Bay team due to the unique nature of the large warehouse's required application. On a surface that sees not only heavy traffic, but constant moisture and cold temperatures, Ferrera and Haroon led an application of a therm-shock proof floor with a moisture vapor barrier fitting for one of South Floridas business distributors.
Bay to Bay has now achieved a total of seven awards in just two and a half years with CASF, and intends to deepen their relationship with CASF as they strive for yearly wins in their respective categories for the foreseeable future.
