August 10th, 2023 - FORT LAUDERDALE, FL:
Bay to Bay Stone Restoration was the contractor behind the first, new tenant flooring project at Pier 66 and the astonishing new property currently underway. While this particular metallic epoxy floor was performed in a remodel of the famed Wayne Huizenga building, formerly Grill 66, this project is the first expansion for flooring for any new commercial client committed to the nearly completed Pier 66.
The most notable feature of the buildings remodel is it being the temporary home, after its the completely remodeled modernization, dedicated to Voltari Electric, the worlds first performance electric boat and one of Pier 66's most exciting tenants for their charge toward being leaders in making more green our waterways.
The project was designed by Jared Michaeli, who was set on emulating the boat-top-down look of the water at Bimini. The inspiration behind the floor was due to the companies World Record set for an electric boat crossing from Fort Lauderdale Florida to Bimini, and back, on a single charge. Michaeli stated: "...its not everyday you have a client giving you complete artist range on a project, let alone providing you inspiration for where a product that will be displayed is the product that is deeply connected to the artistic design itself. It was easy to choose Bimini, the record-breaking boat will be modeled on top of the metallic epoxy where we played with blues and pouring depths of those blues, and had a tide/current/ wind like effect take charge over the strips of sand we wanted to showcase."
Bay to Bay Resinous Coatings is slated to return to Pier 66 and Voltari Electric in the near future, for follow up additions to the existing building and to the new epicenter of South Florida boating, where numerous commercial and artistic flooring expressions are being discussed.
